"Each of the Numbers represents one of the six Dharma stations on the island. The number 4 represents the Swan because the alarm sounds when the Countdown Timer reaches 4 minutes. The other numbers have other significance that will be revealed later in the show. Also, added together they equal 108, which – when divided by 4 is 27. But 27 is not divisible by 4, so there must be more than one Swan station. "Wa-huh?
